In addition to the much loved Motel of the Mysteries by David Macaulay, were the following suggestions... _Tale of the Lost Formicans_ a more recent play by Congden. http://www.epicom.com/voices/ae/formicans499.html Another wonderful satire about archaeology is Robert Nathan's _The Weans_, an archaeological investigation of U. S. culture -- published about 1960. Nacirema is all that I remember. (American spelled backwards.) I hope someone remembers more. When reading your message, it brought to mind the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid, with the sea people and seagulls having forks, spoons, etc. and using them in unusual ways. This sounds alot like the old Andy Griffith movie/book "No Time For Sergeants (sp)". Thanks again for your help!
