MID: Computer usage "permission"

What is your procedure for students being able to use computers in the
library media center? I am not talking about Internet usage, just plain old
computer usage. For example, do the students sign up somewhere? Do they need
to show or give identification? Is there a different policy in effect for
the "before school, lunch and after school time", as opposed to the "during
class time"?
If I get enough answers I'll post a hit.
