Philip, Our Barnes and Noble in Augusta, Maine honors the discount for our school libraries. Our school district also has an account with them. We often go over to pick up books we need. I often go check out their sale racks and usually find lots of things I can use for the library and always get the 20% discount. Originally they asked for my teaching certificate as verification but then issued educator discount cards. Borders in Maine does the same thing. Maybe a difference in managers. Sounds like the one in your area needs to be educated as to how the other stores operate. Good luck.
