As people from other states read the hits, they are forwarding more info. did anyone tell you of the New Jersey Sate Library funding of Ebsco Host for all public and school libraries under a one year grant? In regards to the Ohio online electronic resources, the funding for them has been cut from the state budget. Apparently, they didn't think it was important to enable students in the state to have equal access to these resources, whether they are in a wealthy or poor district. The funny thing is that the public libraries resources are still being funded; and, we can't use them during the school day. So, unfortunately, for all our students who have no computers at home, or can't get to the public library to use their few computers, these wonderful resources will be denied them. I guess our elementary, middle, and high school students will be forced to surf the internet where they get to see banner ads like "Post your nude picture...." What a shame! PA has the Power Library Program available in both school and public libraries. It can be assesses from home with a public library card via the public library websites. Your card number is your ID to access the data from home. This includes our state union catalog ACCESS PA, EBSCO host. SIRS Discover and AP photo archive. More databases are expected to be added this Spring. , Add Maine to your list. This is the first year of our statewide access to EBSCO for all school and public libraries. The remote access from home is great too.
