GEN: TARGET: Avoiding vendors coming to school

Hi, all:

I certainly don't want to offend any listserv members who are vendors BUT...

I have discovered an inclination to avoid vendors visiting me at school.  I
know they're just trying to make a living.  My question:  am I missing out
on some potentially important(fill in the blank - info, books, etc)?  I am
new so there may be a good reason to need to meet with them.  Couldn't I
just look at the catalogs on-line?  (I know some don't have catalogs but
time is so valuable)

Please post privately.  I probably won't post a hit because I wouldn't want
to offend vendor listservers.
