What are you doing with your second graders this week? Share with me and I
will post a hit.....

I am reading William Willya stories. My computer teacher found a website (
http://www.willya.com ) that has activities for two books, William Willya
and the Washing Machine, and William Willya and the Birthday Cake (Masland).
We bought the books thru the website over the summer, and the author
autographed both of them for us. I am reading both stories and the computer
teacher is using the web site activities. The stories are written in rhyme,
and both deal with following directions and dealing with bossy peers. In the
washing machine story, mother gives directions to do two loads of wash
before William can go to the pool. She starts the whites, and goes to work,
and William's friend Molly shows up. She tells him to put ALL the dirty
clothes in together to save time. The second load is all red clothes. You
should see the faces on my students - especially those who know what happens
when we wash reds with whites!
