Library Connections Job Description Library Mentor=20 Library Connections Description Library Connections is a dynamic multi- year program designed to revitalize= inner-city elementary school libraries in the New York Archdiocese. The = purpose of Library Connections is to: develop exemplary Catholic school library programs and collections integrate library programs with curriculum, classroom activities, and = children's learning support active planning and collaboration among library, computer, and = classroom teachers and administrative leaders in each participating school increase use of library programs and collections by students and teachers Purpose The Library Mentor works directly with schools in the Library Connections = program to aid in implementation of project goals and objectives. Responsibilities Maintain regular contact (twice-monthly visits) with school leadership = teams Introduce and promote the program Identify professional development needs=20 Evaluate the facility and collection=20 Facilitate and monitor activities associated with=20 resource weeding/inventory=20 resource selection and acquisition=20 curriculum-integrated information literacy lessons=20 facilities evaluation, scheduling, and other initiatives Assist Program Director in planning and facilitating workshops Provide direct follow-up to workshops Any other necessary tasks Education and Experience Requirements Education: Minimum of M.L.S. preferred Experience: Several years experience working as a professional = librarian.
