My newest joy in life (Okay, so I lead a quiet life!) is listening to two new "radio" programs on the net. I thought I would share in case you would like to tune in, too. I listen to Loose Leaf Book Company, a weekly hour-long adult program about children's literature. It is thematic, and features interviews with authors, etc. You can listen to it or read the transcript. www.looseleafbookcompany.com/archives.html I also have been enjoying Scholastic Teacher Radio. This is a daily program about all sorts of interesting things for educators. For instance I heard Lucy Calkins talk there about the importance of reading aloud, and on Fridays they have been having a picture book read aloud from Weston Woods with permission to share with your class. http://teacher.scholastic.com/teacherradio/pastprograms.asp I often download and save portions (like Lucy Calkins) to listen to again another time. Enjoy, if you know of anything else like this, I'd love to know. Connie Welch, Librarian O.L.P.H.
