Thank you to all who told me the name of the book about elephants being
killed during the war.  Tsuchiya, Yukio.  The faithful elephants. Illus by
Ted Lewin. Houghton Mifflin, 1988. That was fast!  Haven't heard about the
duck one yet, I'll let you know if I get it.
