I sent a Target out in Early January requesting information on speakers who go out and give presentations specifically about individual authors. I know of at least a dozen speakers who go out either as first person characters or slide sets and artifacts on Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was trying to find out if this was singular occurrence or if there were people who went out to talk about L. Frank Baum, Lousia Mae Alcott, Beverly Clearly, Gary Soto etc. The responses I got were from people who hadn't heard about this kind of program before, except for one woman who thought I meant the kind of basic author study that you do at the beginning of the unit. The type of presentation I'm talking about is more like authors make about themselves at conferences. I'm still interested if anybody out there has heard about this type of program for other speakers, so if this rings a bell, let me know. Sarah S.
