Hello everyone!

I just finished Terry MacMillan's ...A day late and a dollar short. I highly
recommend it.
The novel has something for everyone. the story is about an extended family
of grown children, each attempting to master his/her own life issues...three
sisters, a brother, mother, father, and mother's best friend and of course,
the grandchildren.
Reads like real world of non-fiction.

Try Wild Seed by Octavia Butler.

It is a prequel to her Patternist novels. I haven't read any of them.

Doro, the male entity, builder and destroyer, has lived since before
Christ...
Anyanwu, the female entity, healer, shapeshifter, has lived over 300
years...
"One cannot die, the other cannot be killed. "

It is a story of a fated meeting.  One entity needs to control, to dominate;
the other submits and subsequently struggles to be free.


I quarreled and took notes in the margins urging my favored character to
prevail.

This is a book that is chock full of material that would be perfect for
critical analysis. Themes galore.
Read and enjoy.
