I thought LM_NET members might know of colleagues who would be interested in
a new California LMT online program (Credential or Masters). Classes begin
in early September 2001. The following description is from the program's Web
page. The page includes a link under "Requirements" to a list of the 10
courses (total of 30 quarter units) and a link under "FAQ" for tuition
costs.

The Library Media Teacher Credential Program at Azusa Pacific University
(apu.edu) near Pasadena California, is a cutting-edge program, which
prepares candidates for the specialized and comprehensive role of school
librarianship in California's pluralistic schools and communities. Azusa
Pacific University will prepare library media teachers as educational
leaders who are experts in technology, literacy, and diversity.

The Library Media Teacher Credential Program at Azusa Pacific University has
been approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and
the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). This highly
innovative program is offered totally online, except for a one-week summer
institute, which provides for a face-to-face teaching and learning
experience.

For more information please contact the program director Dr. Maria Pacino at
mpacino@apu.edu

Or go to:
apu.edu and search for "Library Media Teacher Credential"
