WAY off topic: Enlisting in Marine band

Has anyone out there had a family member join the Marines to be in their
music program?


My husband's favorite saxophone student has enlisted in the Marines. He has
had an audition, and is scheduled for 13 weeks of basic training in October.
None of us know anyone who has ever done this before, and we are all hoping
for some words of encouragement. Seems like anyone who the boy speaks to has
horror stories of basic training.
