When I started as a librarian 34 years ago we had a tool we used in processing and repairing called a steel eraser. It was shaped kind of like a tear drop on about a 4" long wooden handle. It was mainly used to scrape India ink lettering off of spines if you made a mistake or needed to reletter. The last one we had disappeared when we moved our facility last year. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I would like to obtain 1-2 of them for use in some of my craft work. If you know how I can get some of the eraser please let me know. Right now I am set at nomail so please respond directly to me. Ruth V.
