Most email packages have a way of setting rules or filters. In Netscape Mail, under Edit there is Message Filters. You can select a wide range of criteria and actions. In Outlook, it is under Tools and Rules. There is something similar in Eudora. (That's in Mac, PC is being used by someone else right now) I have a rule called junk. It looks for hahaha in the from line and moves it to the folder I created called 'junk'. You can add additional criteria if you find things slipping through. I have another one that sends anything with subject containing debt or money to that same folder. Not quite on topic, but you can use the rules to send all list mail ( or just a thread) or specific senders to special folders. That way you can cruise through email without having to mentally shift gears from friend's vacation plans to selection policies to summer reading recommendations to webpage design. bob -- Robert Eiffert, Librarian at Image Elementary Vancouver WA http://www.ima.egreen.wednet.edu/library.html beiffert@.egreen.wednet.edu > From: Gail Hutchison <ghutchison@CHARTER.NET> > Reply-To: Gail Hutchison <ghutchison@CHARTER.NET> > Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2001 10:29:38 -0400 > To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU > Subject: GEN: Snow White Virus > > I know this is a virus that has been around awhile but I have received at > least 3 messages this week with "Snow White..." in the Subject line and > "hahaha" in the From line.
