My principal just stopped in with an interesting idea. He'd like to put a wireless computer lab in our building, and wanted to know if I would like to have it in the library. He'd like to use the Ibooks and something called an airport. This would give the students the freedom to sit anywhere in the library and work on a laptop computer, log in to the internet, etc. I am not against the idea, but I do have some unanswered questions: 1. reliability of the equipment - the kids hate the Imacs we have now 2. can they be allocated enough memory for students working on powerpoint presentations (the graphics use up so much memory) 3. do I really want kids sitting all over the room with these computers, or do I want to keep them all in one place as I have them now So, I need some feedback. Is there anyone out there with some experience with these computers? Is it time to go wireless?
