After posting to the listserv the upcoming Oprah show where she was going to have a segment on children's books. I am wondering what members felt about her presentation and selection? To me it was quite clear that Oprah had never seen the books prior to the taping of the show. Children's books get very little attention on national television, and I suppose some exposure is better than none. This may encourage viewers to seek out the titles she mentioned, but on the other hand I just felt the enthusiasm that she displays with her adult bookclub was absent.
