Thanks to all of you who sent helpful info my way about applying for jobs in Georgia. I received lots of good advice and already have set up one interview and have potential for more. I have e-mailed many of you personally, but now I'm running out of time before I leave here and just want to say thanks to everyone who responded. In general, I was told that applying solely through TeachGeorgia isn't such a good idea. It's better to look there for open positions, then apply to the districts directly. It does seem that some counties in Georgia do have a teacher shortage, but not all. Clearly, if I wanted to teach in urban Atlanta I could have a job easily. The more rural places don't seem to be in as much trouble. I got lots of encouragement from all of you along with good practical suggestions and I appreciate all of it. Thanks again to a great group of professionals.
