OFF TOPIC: Savannah

I've just realized that the visit-the-relatives trip my husband is planning
will take us through Savannah, Georgia. We will start in Glassboro, NJ,
travel to China Grove, NC (just north of Charlotte), Port St. Lucie, FL,
Holiday, FL, back to China Grove, then home again.

If I can convince him to stop in Savannah (since there's no relatives of
ours there to visit, one of his prerequisites) do you have any ideas for an
afternoon/evening of tourist activities that would be appropriate to do with
our three year old?

And can you suggest a place to stay (the more historical the better!)(but
don't forget about the three-year old!)
