I have also come across an interesting book on standardized testing.
This one is on a lighter note but just as critical. It is entitled :

Testing Miss Malarkey by Judy Finchler (a NJ Media Specialist)

In it, the author pokes fun at all the commotion surrounding the high
stakes testing that many of us find ourselves involved in. As the powers
in Washington seem to be headed in the direction of high stakes testing
for all, this kind of book is a way to remind us and our students that
it is "only" a test (Yeah, right!). My faculty and students loved it!
