Hi Folks,

Over the past few weeks I have said a good deal about filtering, but there
were some things I wasn't able to say. In mid-March I submitted an article
to Multimedia Schools Magazine about the OII filtering incident. Because
it was going to be published, I couldn't include much of the substance of
that information in my previous posts. However, the magazine is out and
the story of Filtergate can be accessed through
http://www.infotoday.com/MMSchools/MMStocs/may01toc.htm

While we are on this very important subject, I think it is important for us
to keep our sense of humor. So to help us laugh through our tears I have
created the Filtering Follies, where you can vote for your most outrageous
filtering incident. The Academy has nominated five incidents for your
consideration. Just go to http://oii.org/html/filtering.html and click on
the link to Cast Your Vote in the Filtering Follies. After you cast your
vote, you will be show the current standings.

Don't forget to report inappropriate blocking at
http://oii.org/html/overblocking.html and if you have a story that you
think should be nominated for the filtering follies, send it to
follies@oii.org.

Take care,
Art
