I am starting to see requests on our district equipment "wish lists" for = digital video cameras. I have always resisted buying palmcorders and = small cameras designed for consumer or home use and have instead purchased = industrial grade camcorders for school use. (By industrial grade, I mean = they have metal "guts" instead of plastic, and are usually repairable.) = My experience with kids has shown me they are not always as careful with = the equipment as one might hope for. And when students do projects on = their little cameras, we often have tape compatibility problems because = they forget to bring adapters, etc. Maybe it is time for me to rethink this. I would like to hear from all = levels of buildings (elem., M.S. & H.S.) about your experience with the = small digital video cameras and their durability for student use. If = there are enough responses, I will post a hit. =20 By the time I tally up the "wish lists" it may be a moot point, since they = are still a good bit more expensive than industrial grade VHS. We all = know how that goes! Thank you.
