As part of a school-wide focus on international studies next year, a third grade class will be studying Canada. I have located some resources but would like to find more from Canadian sources. I think I am aware of most of what is available in this country and am looking for materials that aren't available here in the US. Is there a series of books on the Canadian provinces other than the Hello Canada series from Lerners? I would like to find others like these but at a lower reading level. I bet there are some teacher curriculum resources with reproducibles and activities for Canadian children to learn about the provinces. Can somebody make a recommendation? Other recommendations for books appropriate for this grade level about things Canadian? Perhaps about the Mounties, ice hockey from a Canadian perspective, culture and holidays, geography, read-aloud stories with a Canadian setting?? Anything else you feel would enrich and inform? And of course I will also need help with identifying a place to order from. I have up to $135 US to spend. Thanks for any help you can give me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jean Townes, Media Specialist townesj@PEAK.ORG Clover Ridge Elementary School Phone: 541-967-4565 Greater Albany Public Schools 2953 Clover Ridge Rd, NE Albany, Or 97321 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
