SHARE: Cheap way to brighten the library

I just wanted to share this end-of-the-year thing I did here with the help =
of a couple of parents and members of my GAMA club. We held a contest back =
in February for Accelerated Reader: anyone who took a test would get to =
put their handprint on the wall in the library before the end of the year.
Today, we had those students come in. We painted one of their hands, =
helped them up a ladder, and had them put their handprints on the wall =
above the bookshelves. We used blue, green, yellow, and purple. I just =
can't tell you how cute it turned out! The kids loved it and had a blast - =
one even looked at me with great big eyes and said, "You mean I get to put =
paint on the wall??" We left three cinderblocks clear of handprints and =
I'll write "Accelerated Readers, 2000-2001" on them. BTW: the paint was =
left over from another project and had been sitting in a storage room so =
there was not cost associated with the project.=20
The kids have not stopped talking about it! I had a blast with them today! =
