Hi Friends: Some issues just never seem to be completely resolved. We're looking for solutions to the seemingly universal rampant and wasteful network printing problem. A lot of paper and toner gets wasted at our school by both students and teachers printing out anything and everything they find. We are lucky and have two networked computer labs off the media center and a couple dozen networked computers arranged in pods around the MC. All of them print to networked printers. Sometimes the paper really flies. We have both Macintosh and Windows machines in the building. Is there any printer management software out there that can limit printing or monitor the source of printing projects for either the Mac or Windows? Can the Network OS itself be used to limit or monitor printing--we use Novell 5.0? Are there any special printer drivers that can limit or monitor printing? I couldn't find any help in the archives, although this question seems to be an oft recurring one. It hasn't been asked for a while so I thought I'd see what if anything is new. -- Dave McQuin Media Specialist Mankato East Junior-Senior High School 2600 Hoffman Road Mankato, MN 56001 507-387-5671 ext 271 dmcqui2@isd77.k12.mn.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
