The Professional Development Alliance(PDA)is a non-for profit
agency for Regional Offices of Education in Illinois.

* Winter 2002 PDA LInC Online course (January 15 - April 23) and
Tuesday online class meetings, No Travel Required.
Optional 5.75 CEUs for $50 or 4.5 graduate credits for $270

* Summer 2002 PDA LInC Facilitators' Academy (June 18 - 20)
Face-to-Face in Joliet, IL (outside of Chicago)
Optional 2.25 CEUs for $50 or 1.5 graduate credits for $90

The PDALInC program is an innovative approach to instruction
designed to challenge teams of U.S. K-12 educators, lead teachers,
technology coordinators, staff developers and library media
specialists), international and university educators to create
engaged learning projects that incorporate the best uses of
technology. In addition, the participants, as school/district
leadership teams, create a plan for their school or district
to disseminate what they have learned.

The online course is highly-interactive as educators use Internet
tools to share ideas with colleagues across the country while they
design projects and publish their work on the Web. Each team also
has a facilitator to provide guidance during the process (with a
1:6 or better facilitator: participant ratio.)

To date, over 300 educators from 22 states have participated since
the program was started at Fermilab in 1994. The program focuses on
developing projects that promote student investigations on real-world
issues using technology to research, collaborate, and publish.
Sample projects from past courses are available at:

Please forward this information to any educators you know that
might be interested in participating in this program.
Applications and further information are available online at:

Past program funders have included Fermilab, Friends of Fermilab,
