Good day all! I am doing a project on West Indian folk tales and the role cultural stories play in the process of acculturation or adjustment in the USA. While my hypothesis is that folk tales help form and firm up a cultural identity, I would also like to explore how having a more solid identity enables a child of West Indian heritage adjust to the lifestyle of their American counterparts. If any of you have insight on this dynamic and on books I could further consult, I would appreciate that. Thank you!
