Avoiding Porn-napping Mouse Trap

Hi Folks,

On another list, David Hellam offered good advice on avoiding mouse traps
by turning off cookies, java scripting, and Active-X.  That will work to
stop mouse trapping and a lot of other offensive activities.   That's a
good tactic when investigating this sort of thing, but it does prevent you
from accessing other sites you might want or need.  For instance many
interactive sites, online courses, etc. require cookies or java be turned
on.  So you will have to remember to turn everything back on.

For these particular sites, I have discovered a way to avoid the mouse
trapping an no generated any revenue for the porn-nappers.  Here's what you
do.  If you find yourself at one of these porn-napped sites, click on the
link to buy the domain name.  That skirts the mouse-trapping script.  Once
you are at the form page, you can close the window(s) without having your
mouse trapped.
