Re: Patriotic bulletin board ideas/books

I was in a rush to put together some type of patriotic
display in light of recent events.  Our library
resources were pretty scarce as far as books related
to theme go but I wanted to share two quick, easy
ideas to which staff and students have responded
positively.  First, I asked staff members to share any
"Americana" items that they may have.  We have filled
a display case with a wonderful colleciton of
red,white, and blue...baskets, birdhouses, quilts,
dolls, prints, etc.  Secondly, I turned one of my
bulletin boards into a giant American flag.  I
crumpled white craft paper for the background, tore
strips of red for stripes, a blue rectangle, and 50
torn white dots for stars.  On the white stripes, I
wrote the words to "God Bless America" by Irvin Berlin.
