Our school is getting ready to start up accelerated Reader in the elementary. Our budget is limited. We are considering not buying STAR reading and try to assess our students' reading level independently. I would like to hear from other librarians out there who are using Accelerated Reader without STAR Reading and if they believe it is a good option. Is it worth spending the extra 1,500 USD on Star reading? Thanks.
