Suspected Plagiarism

Anyone for a challenge?  We have spent all morning and have been unable to
locate a source for a suspicious short story.  Entitled "Forgotten
Memories" this story includes chapters labeled "the First Glimpse", "The
Chasten Desert", and "the World of the Globe".  The plot includes a lawyer,
William Rellik, who is working at a large firm, Kimball, Waterson, and
Crane, on a case involving a child drowning.  The lawyer keeps being hit
with a blinding white flash that bring him pain and visions of a desolate
place.  Leaving work he is hit again, as if by lightening, and is
transported to a desert.  He meets a robin, which he follows,  and
remembers a woman he was involved with.  Then he meets an old man who talks
about belonging to "The Globe".  At that point the story ends.

The final draft and rough draft are almost identical, student is ESL which
makes the lack of grammatical errors and polished writing style very
unusual.  Could this be the start of a longer story or a short story?  I
would appreciate any input.  Thanks.
