I am seeking advice from active librarians who have taken over their position in the same building where they previously taught. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher and have the possibility of taking over the library from our retiring librarian, whom the students and teachers love. I would like to hear about others' experiences, things I should be wary of, what to expect my first year, etc.. Also, would it be very difficult to take on this position not having taken a Cataloging course, which I can't take until next summer? Thanks for any input.
