Hello,
Hello all,
Does your district get publishers books for review purposes for all grades?
Will you share how you handle that particular situation?
In our district, (gee, I wish I could remain anomymous!) the books come to
our professional library, where a clerk separates them loosely into
elementary, middle and high school. Then an ever-dwindling committee meets
monthly, takes the books, writes the reviews, and comes back next month.
The secondary folks keep their books in their library, and the elementary
folks have to bring them back, where the books are displayed for a year for
all elementary LMS's to look at and use for ordering purposes. Then, at the
end of that year of display, the total number of books reviewed is divided
by the number of reviewers, and they dive in and choose what they want.
(whether they reviewed them or not) The reviews are posted online for all
LMS's to use.
Please share your procedures if you are a large district. We have a few
ideas to increase participation, but would like to hear what others are
doing.
Thanks.
