Hello, colleagues:

I am wondering what you do to provide resources for recent immigrant
students whose first language is Spanish. We do not currently have an ESL I
teacher to whom I can turn for ideas on what he or she would do. We had the
same situation last year and when I spoke with other librarians in our
district, they said that the ESL I teachers from their school expected the
students to use all-English materials (though modified in terms of
readability).
Questions:

1. Do any of you provide Spanish-language materials?

2. If so, can you recommend any websites in Spanish that would be
appropriate for middle-school age students (11-14)? Any books?

3. If you don't provide Spanish-language mats, what do you do as a librarian
to help these students? What do your teachers do?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give
