Today a 1st grader came to me and asked for the "book you read to us
last year."  I asked what it was  about and the reply was, "the kids had
a messy house, they smelled something and the dad baked a cake."  This
brought nothing to my mind, so I asked if he remembered anything else
about the book.
In a voice inflection to say "you dummy"  he answered, "No, it was LAST
YEAR!"
      I have a list of what I read last year, and nothing matches this
on my list.  I think he is remembering something the teachers read.
