Automation provides:
* A way for the librarian to spend more time dealing with the needs of the
patrons and less time on those time-consuming projects such as: typing and
filing of catalog cards, inventory, overdue and fine notices,
bibliographies, reports. (Better use of time and resources).
* A way for students to find materials quickly and with less frustration.
* Introduces students to and reinforces procedures that they will be using
in the future (college libraries, public libraries, etc.)
* Depending on what company and features you choose: provides a way to
expand the resources of your media center by linking to other libraries, and
information systems.
