Books about drugs, alcohol, smoking

Our resident state trooper came to me to say that he was applying for a
grant for our DARE program, was there anything I could suggest. I
suggested fiction books dealing with characters with drug, smoking,
alcohol problems.  Checked out some sources and nothing was listed under
any of these topics. Can you suggest some good fiction books reading
level grades 4-6 that deal with these issues? TIA
