Morning announcement equipment

I want to start doing morning announcements with the studetns (K-5). At this
time we  only have a video camera which is broadcast to each classroom.  I
would like to ask the tech committee to purchase the things we need to make
a good morning show- problem is, I don't know what "things" we need. I
remember from one of my courses using a mixer,  and a computer program. Can
anyone help me and tell me what you have, what you do and the basics I need
to get started.
