Here are more of your favorites, except for a great webpage for which I will= =20 forward the URL once I get back to school Tuesday. :-) Again, thanks for all= =20 the responses. I used to teach 3rd before I became an LMS--here are a few real winners for=20 third graders-- The Herbie Jones series by Suzy Kline The Time Warp Trio by Jon Sciezcka Max Malone books (author?) My Father=E2=80=99s Dragon trilogy by Ruth Stiles Gannet The Boxcar Children by Warner The Cody books by Betsy Duffey Encyclopedia Brown series by Donald Sobol Amber Brown books by Danziger Marvin Redpost books and Wayside books by Louis Sachar Merlin Trilogy by Jane Yolen=20 =20 3rd grade is wonderful cause they love everything! Some favorites at our=20 school are-- Chapter Books: Mr. Popper=E2=80=99s Penguins Where the Red Fern Grows Because of Winn Dixie how to Eat Fried Worms Superfudge Picture Books: The Three Pigs by David Weisner (I think this will win the Caldecott) The Web Files by Palantini (She wrote Piggie Pie!) The Stinky Cheese Man by Jon Sczieka When I taught third grade the most popular ones were: Freckle Juice; Stone Fox; Hatchet; Nasty, Stinky Sneakers; Island of the Blu= e=20 Dolphin, War with Grandpa, Justin and the Best Biscuits I just remembered 2 more titles--Zucchini by Barbara Dana and Stone Fox by=20 John Gardiner (have tissues handy!) =E2=80=9CRent a Third Grader=E2=80=9D is good for the beginning of the year.
