The subject line should actually be "Morning Sickness Help!", but I thought
it would sound a little odd!

I am in the early stages of pregnancy and having horrible morning, or rather
"all day" sickness. I would like to put together emergency sub plans in the
event that I am too sick to make it to school. My goal is to have 3 to 4
"book packets" for each grade level that I can have stored in a sub file
cabinet should the need arise.

I see each class once a week for 30 minutes. I would love suggestions for
picture books or very short chapter books (particularly grades 3-5) that
would be appealing to them that a sub could read in that time period and
maybe a short activity that could tie in to the book. Recently published
books that you love would be wonderful!

Of course, when I am on maternity leave I will work with the permanent sub
to help him or her follow our K-5 media curriculum. But when you have a sub
just for a day or two, you never know who it will be and what kind of
experience (if any) they have in an elementary media center!

Thank you in advance for your ideas! I'll post a hit if there are lots of
replies!
