Group, The question posed was: I have a third grade teacher who is looking for fantasy books that can be read on an independent level for those at the end of second beginning of third grade. The responses received: · Dragons of Blueland series? (by Gannett) · I think Catwings by LeGuin is fantasy. The Narnia Series by C. S. Lewis may be too difficult, but fits the genre. · Edgar Eager has several including Half Magic (my fav!) · My own third grade daughter likes the Magic Tree House mysteries by Mary Pope Osborne. (good stories, history and time travel). There are 20+ of them. And the A to Z Mysteries too; some are fantastical: example http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/037580269X/qid=99917 8852/sr=8-2/ref=aps_sr_b_1_2/102-2721614-9535307 She loves ALL dragon books! Thanks for your responses I will give this to the teacher.
