My suggestion would be not to put students in a box.
If you look at the AR levels, you'd see that they are
grading on grade level words, not maturity content.  I
allow my students to read whatever grade level they
find most interesting.  Even my HS students check out
AR books that are on 5-7 grade levels.
If you have students are you that advanced, start them
on the classics.  I find students are becoming less
and less exposed to them unless read in the classroom.
