I'm currently taking a class on technology and Internet in the library. One assignment asked us to contact a librarian in regard to a certain situation. I'm looking at the privacy issue for students. 1. Have you ever been challenged on a privacy issue involving a student and how did you resolve it? 2. What is your stance of privacy issues and the Internet during school hours? (i.e. e-mail, confidentiality of student records, student test results, pictures of students/staff on a web page) 3. How do you feel filters affect educational privacy? The reason I'm asking the listserv is because I have so many more librarians to reach out to than the four surrounding communities I live near. It would be interesting to see the different facets/policies of librarians around the country.
