My world history teacher gave me a book last year to peruse (which I later =
purchased for the library) titled "Let the Authors Speak: A Guide to =
Worthy Books Based on Hisorical Setting" by Carolyn Hatcher. "It is a =
guide for about 1300 books sorted by setting--based on the century and =
location of the story. The same listing is also sorted by author and by =
title to provide cross references". It also gives reading levels. It is =
a very comprehensive book. I love it. It came from Old Pinnacle =
Publishing ISBN 0-9640681-2-5. The cost was 18.95. To order send your =
name, mailing address, and ordering information, printed clearly to:
                           Old Pinnacle Publishing
                           Dept. 100
                           1048 Old Pinnacle Rd.
                            Joelton, TN 37080
Sorry, there was no phone number. Hope this helps!

Hello my friends,

I know that somewhere out there is an annotated list
of novels that would be good to use as class studies
for social studies (especially history) for grades
3-6. My prinicpal and I are looking for novels to tie
in with US and world history, either to read to the
kids or have them read in literature circles.

Thanking you in advance,
