series of unfortunate events

Thanks to everyone who responded.  I did find the author"s website with =
his real name through google.com.  I must confess I was hoping to find =
another name behind the pen name.  The time-frame when the books came =
out, the similarity in writing style to the Harry Potter books, the =
silly pen name and the fact I thought I remembered hearing about Rowling =
witing other books in between the last and future Potter book all made =
me think I was about to solve 2+2.  Oh well, it came out to 5 instead of =
4. =20

My step-kids can't wait to get the rest of the series and I'm going to =
introduce my junior high kids to them, along with Artemis Fowl since =
they have been begging for Potter read-alikes.  I really enjoy the =
character the author set up for his pen name.  Pretty creative and I =
think the kids will get into that aspect of the books as well.
