HIT: First student day of school

Thank you to all who responded to my question.  I was asked to post a
HIT.

My question was "What was your first day of school for students?"  If
you did not respond before, please do so now.  I would love to have as
many replies from as many different places as possible.  I am, however,
only interested in K-12 schools.
