I'll try this again. I'm new to the list serve and I posted my question incorrectly the first time so I'll try again. I'm an elmentary media specialist in Michigan and want to move to California next summer. I've gotten on some Department of Education sites and found out some basic information about certification. I really want to know from the media specialists who are working in the schools about the need for media specialists, are California schools hiring elementary media specialists and middle school media specialists? What is the general attitude for the media center program and curriculum? It varies greatly in Michigan from district to district. I'd be looking in the general area from LA east to Palm Springs and south to Carlsbad. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.
