LM_NET 09/22/01: No Subject

Hello. I'm new to the listserv and would like to introduce myself. I'm
Debbie Gray, and I've just started my first job as a school library media
specialist. Boy was I in for a shock. No OPAC, no card catalog, and no
shelflist. Most of the books are not in order either. (Guess what I do
during my prep period!) I love the work, and the challenge. But does anyone
have any suggestions? Colleagues have suggested creating a shelf list with
new books only. I've been trying to make myself a simple shelf list, but am
overwhelmed. The collection is new to me, so I've been browsing every chance
I get, but find going to my public library for resources easier. It's a 1st
through 3rd grade elementary school. Thank you!
