HIT: Humorous books for 8th graders

Many thanks to all who replied to my request for humorous books.

Here's my original request:

This year I have many 8th grade boys who are looking for novels that are
humorous.  I have many humorous novels, but they are geared more for 6th
graders.  Can you suggest anything that is humorous but more at the maturity
level of an 8th grader?

Liz Honey's can be fun for all: Don't Pat the Wombat, Fiddleback, Stella

Avi - Don't you know there's a war on?     as always, a good read
Lucy Frank's - Oy Joy!         many very funny scenes
Michael Laser's - 6-321         is serious but has lighter moments
Donna Napoli - The Prince of the Pond : Otherwise Known As De Fawg Pin

How about the Blue Avenger books. I can't think of the author but there are a
couple of them.

Harris and Me by Paulsen

I have some my son enjoyed in 8th and 9th. One is youngish, the other has
some sex in it.

Harris and Me by Paulson  (6th grade and up)
Where the Kissing Never Stops--Koertge (the one with sex)
Deliver Us from Evie (no sex but with homosexual themes)
Oddballs--Sleator (autobiographical short stories with some scatological
references)

The book The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Christoper Curtis is a humorous
book with serious parts also
