While I agree the shelf list should probably go, I would suggest not putting the cards in the garbage. Instead offer them to teachers for scratch paper. I have cleaned out three card catalogs in my career, and I keep the cards to make grocery lists, etc. I also have a friend who teaches elementary school, and she uses them for the kids to make flash cards out of. With all the cards I've given her, she can have each kid make a set for each letter, number, or whatever. I have them all over my house where I make notes to myself. They are stiff enough to stand up, too. So, use your imagination, and use those cards!!
